German Red is a hardneck garlic of the Rocambole variety. It averages 8-12 medium-sized cloves per bulb. German Red has thin light bulb wrappers with lots of light purple and brown in them and light brown skin around the cloves. It stores for 4-5 months.
Flavour: German Red has robust, hot and spicy flavour that sticks around for a long time. It’s heat is like a hot pepper and therefore is excellent in dishes like salsas.
Growing Conditions: German Red is winter hardy and grows best in well drained soil.
