Carpathian Red is a hardneck garlic of the Rocambole variety. It averages 8-9 cloves per bulb. Carpathian Red has thin outer bulb wrappers with copper coloured striping and purple blotching with reddish brown skin around the cloves. Due to the thin flaky bulb wrappers it is best used fresh.
Flavour: Carpathian Red is a very strong and rich garlic with hot and spicy flavour that sticks around a long time. The underlying sweetness of this garlic makes Carpathian Red unique for roasting and a good choice for pickling.
Growing Conditions: Carpathian Red is cold hardy prefers well-drained soil.
