Fishlake carries a rich piece of garlic history, it originates from Ted Maczka, the late Ontario grower affectionately known as "The Fish Lake Garlic Man," who spent decades collecting and developing garlic strains near Fish Lake, Ontario. This Porcelain variety is one of his most enduring contributions, prized as a robust grower capable of producing impressively large bulbs.
Fishlake is usually lightly colored, with the classic satiny white Porcelain wrapper, and holds 4–6 large cloves per bulb. In the kitchen, it delivers good flavor with medium heat , approachable, well-rounded, and true to the Porcelain family's reputation for robust taste.
